2009-'10 LHWL New Member Class
It was at this meeting that President Donna Mason and Membership Chairman Mary Barnes introduced 14 new members to the league.
"An interesting fact about this year's class is that five of our new members are alumni of Lake Highlands High School," says Barnes.
"These ladies grew up here and have returned to raise their families and continue the work of supporting our great community."
Also included in the new membership class are daughters of current league sustainers, local PTA presidents and mothers whose children range in age from 1st grade to college students.
"This is a great mix of ladies, and we're all looking forward to working together to make this another successful year for the LHWL," comments Barnes.
The largest event of the year for the Lake Highlands Women's League is their annual home tour "Holiday in the Highlands”, chaired this year by Debbie Johnson and Anna Dean.
A total of four beautiful Lake Highlands homes have been selected for inclusion in this year's tour.
"Mark your calendars for Friday, December 4th," says Publicity Chair Cheryl Zreet. "Tickets can be purchased from any LHWL member."
"We hope everyone will also make plans to attend the Holiday Market and luncheon. Together with our business sponsors and community partners, the market and luncheon really help make the tour a success."
The Lake Highlands Women's League is now in it's 39th year of service to the community.
Having raised nearly $1.5 million dollars in that time, the group's work has made a huge impact on services and scholarships for students right here in Lake Highlands.
