Burgers for Backpacks at Coach's!
Back to school shopping can be one of the best parts of getting ready for a brand new school year.
When your family is struggling, however, it can put a damper on what should be a really exciting time.
That's one reason State Representative Carol Kent, of Texas House District 102, is welcoming Lake Highlands families to participate in her 2nd annual Back to School Backpack Drive.
The best part for our Lake Highlands readers? It could net you a free burger from our friends at Coach's!
August 18th, beginning at 6:00 p.m., Rep. Kent is offering a free Coach's burger to everyone who donates a new backpack to the drive when they come into the restaurant.
“Having a new backpack is one way to make sure that every student has the tools at hand to start the new school year,” says Rep. Kent.
“Providing backpacks is a great way to show support of our schools and also touch the lives of students in need.”
LH Today readers can help students from both the Richardson and Garland school districts get a fresh start to their year by donating a new backpack to the drive today between the hours of 6:00 and 7:30 p.m.
Don't have a new backpack to offer? Rep. Kent will also be accepting $5 donations to the RISD Partner's Fund, which will net you a burger as well. Donations are certainly not required, and no one will be turned away, regardless of what they are able to contribute.
"By all working together," says Kent, "we can help local students get a brighter start to the new school year."
So along with a good deed, there's the prospect of an awesome Coach's burger! It's a win-win for our all readers!
Coach's Burgers is located at 9310 Forest Lane, Ste. 362, just south of the intersection of Forest and Abrams behind CVS.
