Watch LH Today for more details... coming soon!

Know anyone who loves flowers and is looking to own a small local business?

This week, LH Today and LH Floral are bringing a new twist to our Deal of the Week.

This isn't just a discount on a nice bouquet, but rather the entire business up for sale.

We heard through the grapevine that owner and manager of LH Floral, Linda Miles, was struggling with her health and considering putting the business up for sale.

LH Today caught up with her to get all the details.

Linda confirmed the rumors. “Yes, my health is a big issue and the business is just too much for me to handle on a daily basis."

"Busy season is right around the corner," she explains. "So it’s best we try and sell the business now.”

Linda currently owns the business with her brother-in-law, Eddie Corbitt.

“We bought the business a year ago and had high hopes," says Corbitt. "Unfortunately things just haven’t worked out.”

“Given the fact that LH Floral is one of the only florists in all of Lake Highlands, I know this is a great opportunity," he says. "But given Linda’s health issues, we need to sell the business immediately, so we'll be as flexible as possible.”

The business is located in the Lake Highlands Plaza shopping center at the southwest corner of Walnut Hill and Audelia. This location has been home to the florist for nearly 15 years.

LH Today discussed the opportunity with a few people, including David Farris who owns two businesses in the same shopping center, T-Hee Greetings & Gifts and the recently-opened My Office.

“Buying this florist is a great opportunity for the right person," says Farris. "It has tremendous potential for a lot of reasons, one being the synergy we expect to create through our recent expansion."

Farris is referring to the new Inviting Room, now open for business inside T Hee Greetings

LH Today first reported on it here.

The new Inviting Room, through its custom invitation inventory and retail gift selection, specifically caters to brides and their bridal parties, as well as hostesses of baby showers, graduation parties and other special milestones.

These are all customer segments looking for a great local florist, which is conveniently located in the same shopping center.

“Besides tapping into the natural synergy between the businesses, I’m confident the florist can thrive if the right marketing campaign is put in place,” comments Farris. “For someone with the right creative touch and ability to market the business, it will be a success.”

The sale of the florist includes all assets. Coolers, computers, customer database, FTD software and all other items currently in the store will be part of the deal.

Corbitt wants to stress the sense of urgency given Linda’s health issues. “We need a buyer to step forward immediately," he explains. "Remember, too, we will be as flexible as possible given the circumstances.”

Interested parties can contact Eddie Corbitt directly for more information at 817-727-7526.
