
The Hohnstein family at My Office
The Hohnsteins recently hired Lake Highlands commercial and residential Interior Designer Risë Talbot, ASID, RID.
Risë is owner of Pace Design Group (PDG) and an instructor at El Centro College.
They're also working with Lakewood contractor Tim Rutledge, who’s been in the construction business since 1976.
The Hohnsteins are acquainted with both Risë and Tim from their church, and are working with them in part to continue their goal of "keeping it local."
Risë and Tim have already begun - and will continue - assisting with redesigning the My Office space.
Updates began with Risë consulting Karen about display case design and providing the color scheme. Tim constructed additional work space and a new copy machine work station, relocated slat walls, and provided much needed improvements in the back room and restrooms, doing tile work and painting.
According to Roger, My Office is striving to be a resource for the LH community.
"Living in Lake Highlands is great, and we want to make it even better by offering a variety of goods and services right in here in our neighborhood," he says.
"Whether your needs are for your office, home business or your child's classroom, we want to provide local options that save LH residents time."
Along with handling all aspects of mailing, shipping and copying needs and supplies, (you can even bring your flash drive and they’ll work from that) the shop offers Notary services and document shredding. Additionally, knowing how busy families appreciate convenience, My Office also offers drop-off services for Pearl Dry Cleaning and Mobile Sharpening for knives and scissors.
Karen also recently secured another much-needed selection for LH residents: the books on the required reading lists for LHJH, LHFC and LHHS.
"We know first hand from our girls how difficult obtaining the required reading list books can be," says Roger. "We've got a great selection available now, along with lots and lots of school supplies in those new display cases!"
Due to the impending departure of Tyler Oakley, who has served as manager since the inception of My Office, Karen has begun getting more involved in daily operations.
Tyler graduated from UT Dallas on May 15th, and My Office celebrated his accomplishment with cake for all their customers!
Tyler is now reaching out to the many neighborhood contacts he’s made over the years, anticipating his future endeavors.
"The graduation was a good ceremony, quick and dirty, with about 400 of us graduating in a little over an hour."
"It was really nice that some of my old customers from my came by to congratulate me."
