Tips for staying safe this Halloween

- It's always best to trick-or-treat in groups, especially with an adult or two leading the route.
- It's a good idea to have children carry flashlights, glow sticks or reflectors; both for their visibility, as well as helping make them more visible to cars.
- If possible, try to trick-or-treat in the late afternoon or early evening, before it gets too dark.
- Stay on streets that are well-lit and only cross at corners and marked intersections.
- Leave your pets at home for the evening & when passing out candy, keep pets away from the door to prevent scaring young children.
- Explain to your children that it is never safe to enter the home of someone who is passing out candy; adults should accompany children to every door.

Happy Halloween, Lake Highlands!

Enjoy and be safe!
