Shopping Soiree welcomes all of Lake Highlands
The Lake Highlands Area Early Childhood PTA (LHAECPTA) initially planned to pull together a little shopping event for their members to promote their own businesses.
Months later they have over forty vendors scheduled to participate, and the whole town is buzzing about the upcoming event.
"It started with a few members asking if they could tell their friends and neighbors who own small businesses and might like to participate," says Erin Moyer, LHAECPTA Board Member and Shopping Soiree co-coordinator.
"From there, the emails just started flooding in with inquiries and interest," she says. "In the end, we decided to open up the event to all Lake Highlands residents, not just LHAECPTA members."
The upcoming soiree offers perfect timing for those who want to get a jump start on holiday shopping.
There will be clothes, jewelery, gifts, soaps and lotions, many of which are made here locally or sold by our Lake Highlands residents. There's a little something for everyone!
The event is taking place on Thursday, November 19th at St. James Episcopal Church in Parish Hall. Shopping hours are from 9 a.m. to noon and 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
"We are very excited about the upcoming Soiree. The response we've gotten so far has been fabulous," says Tiffany Walker, LHAECPTA '09-'10 President.
"It's far exceeded anything we could have imagined, and it just goes to show that Lake Highlands really is something special."
"I knew I had some talented friends and neighbors, but that only scratched the surface. I had no idea we had so many talented residents in our area," says Walker.
"I'm just so glad that the LHAECPTA could pull something together to not only support our members, but also support our community and help our friends and neighbors Live Local!"
Vendors can apply to participate in the event through this Friday, November 6th. LHAECPTA members can exhibit at no cost, and non-members can participate for $35.
There's also a business card table that service persons and/or contractors can participate in for just $5.
