Peeping Tom on the prowl in LH
Peeping Tom targets the L-Streets
Krista Curnutt and her husband Brian want their neighbors to be aware and alert.

Based on recent occurrences at their L-Streets home, they have good reason to want to get the word out.

Since late summer, their residence has been the target of a peeping tom, and unfortunately his visits are becoming more regular.

“August 21st was the date of the first occurrence,” explains Krista from her home in the 9000 block of Livenshire.

“Around 11:30 p.m our dogs’ barking woke us up, and we found our house being toilet-papered by some friends of our sons.”

“We were expecting them – it’s just one of those teenage things,” she says. “What we weren’t expecting was what happened next.”

The girls who were wrapping the house had no sooner loaded up in their car to leave, when a man walked into the Curnutt’s front yard and began cleaning up all the toilet paper in their yard.

“My husband and I certainly found it odd, so obviously we watched him very closely,” she says.

“This man just kept getting closer and closer to our house, and then began looking into our windows. We really became alarmed when he actually came up on our front porch and began peering into our front door.”

The Curnutts called the police, who arrived within several minutes and searched their street and alley to no avail.

September was a quiet month, but just last week the peeping tom returned.

“Last Friday night, October 2nd around 11:30 p.m., our house was wrapped once again following a football game,” says Krista. “I made a joke to my husband about whether or not our creeper would show up again and clean the yard.”

At 3:00 a.m. that morning her husband Brian awoke to find all the toilet paper gone from their yard – completely cleaned up, not a piece in sight.

By Monday evening, October 5th, when it happened for the third time, the Curnutts had already began notifying neighbors, asking around and doing some fact-finding.

Turns out they weren’t the only ones on the block who have been visited by this perpetrator.

“Just two blocks over from me, a man fitting the same description has been seen looking in windows,” says Krista.

“And we recently found out that our neighbor saw someone in her backyard two weeks ago. She even found cigarette butts on her back porch, and no one in her family smokes.”

And just last night, he was back again.
