A big weekend for The Store in LH
As many of her loyal customers know, she began an expansion of her retail space that started the beginning of June and lasted through the summer months.
On Friday and Saturday of last week, Calvin hosted an Open House and invited everyone to come check out the new space.
"Customers were asking for more products," explains Calvin. "And we just didn't have the space."
"Now we do, and rest assured more inventory is arriving everyday!"
Retail lines that have already been added include Vera Bradley, Thymes body care products, Aspen Bay candles, and Lolita wine glasses.
The expansion also allowed for the creation of a separate spirit section which carries all things LH, collegiate and sorority items, and allows for a larger children's area.
Calvin plans to use some of the new space to host events, like an upcoming book signing by Ft. Worth Chef Grady Spears, author of "The Texas Cowboy Kitchen."
She's also recently introduced of a new line of Christmas ornaments and will provide in-store personalization of the ornaments closer to the holidays.
Despite the recent downturn in the economy, Calvin and her staff are still experiencing good returns.
"Some of it can be attributed to the time of year, as everything picks up when school starts in the fall," she says. "But we're certainly seeing an increase in traffic since the expansion."
