Four years ago, Karen Hope-Overstreet made a move.

After 25 years as an employee, she became the owner and operator of Conly Cleaners, now located on Walnut Hill just west of Plano Road.

"Steve, the former owner, is still a very good friend," says Karen.

"Even though he's retired now, he still makes regular appearances at the cleaners and even runs deliveries for us when someone is on vacation."

"My kids have grown up around him, and they still have a special bond with him."

Conly Cleaners considers itself a custom operation.

In short, it's all in the details.

"Our service is personalized to each customer," says Karen.

"If the customer wants something pressed a certain way – whether it's no crease, an open lapel, or custom folds – we make sure that reminder shows on the computer every time the account is pulled."

Things like broken buttons are replaced at no cost to customers.

Conly's email service caters to busy lifestyles and folks who can't always remember which clothes are currently at the cleaners.

"Another service we offer is our pickup and delivery," says Karen.

"We provide each customer with a customized, labeled red bag, and we offer monthly billing by check or credit card for our customers' convenience."

Previously located at at Skillman and Whitehurst for over 20 years, Conly Cleaners has been at their current location since June of 2003.

"We're a family-owned and operated business with six full-time and two part-time employees."

"We take pride in taking care of our customers, and look forward to serving more Lake Highlands residents."

Conly Cleaners is located at 9711 Plano Road, next to Tex Mex Grill & Cafe.

They are open Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays 8:00 a.m. -2:00 p.m.

The cleaners is closed on Sundays.
