"We met the store's owner, Carley Seale, and after visiting with her and sharing the story behind the Chicks, she invited us to feature our work at her Handmade Market in November."
"We'll miss hosting our usual home sale this year," adds Johnson. "But we're so excited to partner with Carley and get the word out about this year's items."
Loyal Lake Highlands fans and new friends will be able to find amazing gifts at this year's sale, as well as some fun items to help you decorate your own home.
Melissa's broken glass Christmas trees sell out every year. A time-honored tradition in her family, it was her great aunt who created the first tree.
"Her decorations always had meaning behind them," says Hood. "The broken glass that's used to make the trees symbolizes our broken dreams, and as we turn them over to the Creator, it helps remind us to point all our decorations to the true meaning of the season."
For Creative Chick Gloria Burson, there's no limit on the type of item that can yield artistic energy.
"When I started out, I had an idea about working with pears and how to use them in decorations. That turned to using guords in folk art design and led me to even more ideas for Christmas ornaments," she says.
"There's really no limit to the artistic spirit."
Shoppers can look for Burson's Katherine Grace line of jewelry at the November show, in addition to her decorative pieces for the home.
Fuerst looked for and found her inspiration in reclaimed fabrics this year, so she'll be offering a line of hand-stamped pillows and custom frames just in time for the show.
"This group of ladies - we really have our finger on the pulse of what's hot," jokes Johnson.
She may be laughing, but one look at Lisa's line of vintage photo cards and shoppers will know there's truth behind her words.
Her handmade, decorative caddies will also be available at The Gypsy Wagon show, in addition to her personalized coasters - a perfect gift idea for the holidays.
"We are so grateful for all our loyal Lake Highlands customers," says Hood. "The Handmade Market is such a great opportunity for the Chicks, and we're really hoping to see all our LH friends at the event next weekend."
So make plans to head down to the Gypsy Wagon on Saturday, November 21st, and be prepared to find a treasure or two!
The Gypsy Wagon is located at 5211 Bonita Avenue in Dallas. You can visit the store's website at http://www.the-gypsy-wagon.com.
