Nine swimmers from the Lake Highlands High School swim team qualified to advance to the Region 3-5A meet at the Mansfield Independent School District’s Natatorium on February 12th and 13th, following a highly-successful district swim meet on January 29th.

Swimmers who finished their district races with the top six lowest times advanced to regionals.

The LHH2o team enjoyed top finishes in both individual and relay races at the district competition held at the Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD Natatorium.

"I'm proud of the way the team performed at the district meet,” said senior team captain Curran Kelley. “Even though we didn’t win the overall points race, we still put up a strong performance that we are all proud of."

In the girls 100-yard free and 100-yard breast races, Lake Highlands senior Paige Slater took first place.

In the girls 200-yard individual medley race, senior Laura Jean Mueller took second place. She placed 6th in the 100-yard backstroke.

In the girls 50-yard free and 100-yard back, sophomore Peyton Slater took second place in each race.

In the girls 100-yard breast, freshman Siobhan Kelley took fifth place.

In the boys 200-yard free race, junior Luke Smith took sixth place.

In the boys 100-yeard back, sophomore Tyler Reagan took fifth place.

The boys and girls relay teams also advanced to regionals.

In the girl’s 200-yard medley, the LHH2o girls placed second. The group also placed second in the 200-yard free relay.

Relay team members included seniors Laura Jean Mueller and Paige Slater, sophomore Peyton Slater and freshman Siobhan Kelley.

In the boys 200-yard free relay, the Wildcats placed fourth. The same group placed fifth in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

The regional swim meet begins at 9:00 a.m. on February 12th at the Mansfield ISD Natatorium located at 1001 N. Holland Road in Mansfield, Texas.
