Senior D.D. Fields
Four years of hard work and commitment have finally paid off for D.D. Fields, senior captain of the Lake Highlands wrestling team. At the Region III Tournament in Houston, D.D. placed third in the 125 lb. weight class.

This outstanding performance qualified D.D. for the state tournament in Austin where he just missed earning All-State status with a loss in the consolation semi-finals.

D.D. began wrestling his freshman year. It has long been evident to those who watch him wrestle that he has an immense amount of talent and heart. As a four-time regional qualifier and two-time state alternate, D.D. has certainly paid his dues, which has allowed him to fully appreciate what he has accomplished so far this year.

Thayer Atkins
Thayer Atkins may only be a freshman, but he certainly doesn't wrestle like one. At the Regional Tournament in Houston last weekend, Thayer made history by becoming the first freshman in the history of Lake Highlands High School to qualify for the State Tournament by placing third in the 112 lb. weight class.

At the State Tournament last weekend, Thayer continued to make history by placing 4th and becoming the first freshman to become an All-State wrestler for the 'Cats.

Outside of wrestling, Thayer is also a member of Young Life. He would like to thank God for his ability to wrestle and for keeping him safe and injury-free. He would also like to thank his family for all of the support they offer.
