Desmond Roland
Wildcat Football - RB
Senior Desmond Roland got the 2010 football season started off with a bang against Mesquite last Friday night.
With 222 rushing yards and three TD’s, Roland not only put his indelible stamp on the game, but set himself up for yet another monster season for the Wildcats.
The 222 yard game was a personal best for Desmond. Similar results during his career have attracted a lot of attention from college coaches. As a heavily recruited athlete, Desmond currently has eleven scholarship offers but recently ended the recruiting process by verbally committing to play football at Oklahoma State University.
Outside of football, Roland is involved in Young Life, is an LHHS Peer Helper and also involved in AVID.
He plans on majoring in Sports Management or Business in college.

Devonte Sunwenghan
Wildcat Football - WR
As a two year starter for the Lake Highlands Wildcat football team, junior Devonte Sunwenghan wanted to get the season off to the right start, and he did just that against Mesquite last Friday night.
Listed as a wide receiver on the depth chart, Devonte had six catches for 142 yards (23.7 avg per catch) against Mesquite but also added 92 yards rushing and 4 TD's to his stat line for the game.
Devonte is one of only two junior team captains for the Wildcats this year.
While devoted to football, Devonte is a solid student and regularly attends Young Life.
Although he has no scholarship offers just yet, Devonte's goal is to play football in college and lists his favorite schools as Oklahoma and Ole Miss.
