Featured Wildcats
Sara Shaw
Cross Country
Sara Shaw
Last year as a freshman, Sara put District 9-5A on notice when she finished in eighth place at the district meet. Last Friday, she proved her performance as a freshman wasn't a fluke when she crossed the finish line at the district cross country meet in 2nd place.

She not only improved in the standings, but she also ran a personal best of 12:20 over the two-mile course, and for the second year in a row qualified for regionals.

In addition cross country, Sara is active on the soccer circuit, playing for both her select team and the Lady Wildcats.

She is a member of Mu Alpha Theta and involved in the Girls Service League as well.
Meron Fessahaie
Cross Country
Meron Fessahaie
It was a repeat performance by Meron. While a heavy favorite to win the district cross country meet for the second year in a row, Meron's performance was nothing short of dominant - winning by a full minute on the 3.1 mile course and doing so with a personal best of 14:34.

Meron now turns his attention to the regional meet where he hopes to qualify for state. Of course, with track season right around the corner, there are likely more repeat district championships in Meron's future.

Meron is committed to run cross country and track at Rice University. He is the LHHS Senior Class President, a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta and RISD's Student Advisory Council.
