‘Cats Baseball makes it two wins in a row
After getting a much needed confidence boost from the huge win over Creekview last week, the 'Cats returned home to take on Molina Tuesday night and got a shutout win on Teacher Appreciation Night.

Though Lake Highlands could only muster one run out of 9 hits, they played good defense and survived a tight game behind the pitching of senior Judson Luther.

Luther gave up only 3 hits in seven innings, struck out 5 and needed only 74 pitches to get the win. He also had what was perhaps the key defensive play of the game for the 'Cats when he picked-off a Molina runner in the fifth inning to clear the bases.

The 'Cats only needed one run to get the win, and it came in the bottom of the 3rd inning when senior Cameron Bodell led off with a single and then advanced to second base on another single by senior Byron Burns.

With one out, junior Blake Woodson hit a hard ground ball up the middle which brought home Bodell, who barely beat the throw from center field.

Coach Higgins squad is now 4-3 in district play, which is good for a 4th place tie with district rival, Berkner.

The 'Cats travel to Skyline on Friday for their next district match-up before returning home next Tuesday to face Sunset.

First pitch against Skyline is set for 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

GO 'CATS!
