The Lake Highlands boys and girls track teams started their Spring Break last Thursday by traveling to North Richland Hills for the Richland Rigsby 2011 Relays.
The varsity girls finished in 6th place, and the boys took 4th.
Freshman Katherine Chew moved up to varsity for this meet and ran a 16.17 100M hurdle, which earned her the 2nd place medal. The varsity girls also placed 2nd in the 400M relay and 3rd in the the 800M relay.
The varsity boys continued to dominate in individual events. David Green followed up his performance at the LH Invitational with gold medals in both the 100M (10.82) and the 200M (22.03).
Meron Fessahaie ran a strong race in the 800M placing first with a time of 1.57.5.
Zack Knickman took 2nd in the shot with a personal best distance this year of 55’3”.
Victor Iwuguu earned second in the 110M hurdles. The 1600 relay team placed third with a time of 3:33 in their first race of the year.
The Lady 'Cats will travel the Stanridge Stadium Friday, March 25th for the CFBISD Relays.
The boys return to action at the prestigious Sheaner Relays Saturday scheduled for Saturday, March 26th at Jesuit High School.
