With a 12-2 win over Sunset on Tuesday night, the 'Cats are now on a four game win streak heading into tonight's all-important game against Berkner.
Judson Luther got the start against Sunset but was pulled after the 'Cats unleashed a barrage of hits in the 2nd and 3rd innings, generating nine runs.
Dylan Porter and Ryan Browder completed the game for the 'Cats. Wildcat scoring started in the second inning when Judson Luther led off with a line drive home run to left field. A Sunset error put Freshman Bo Barnes on first.
Singles by RJ Burns and Cameron Bodell followed, loading the bases with one out. Another error on a hard hit ball by Byron Burns yielded two more runs.
The last run of the inning came on a sac fly by the area's leading hitter, Blake Woodson, which scored Bodell from third.
In the third inning, the fireworks continued once again when Luther got on base with a hard hit ball that was good for a double. Another double by Bo Barnes brought Luther home, putting the 'Cats up 7-0.
A walk by RJ Burns set up Cameron Bodell to launch a two strike breaking ball to deep left field for his fourth home run of the season.
In the 6th inning, singles by David Bloodworth and Ben Wolf, followed by a Browder walk, loaded the bases with no outs. The game was called on a run rule after Ben Fields got a two-run single to left field.
The District 9-5A standings show the 'Cats and Rams tied up in 3rd place, both with 6-3 records.
Tonight's game is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. at Berkner High School.
Tomorrow, Saturday, April 17th, the 'Cats return home to face a Creekview team who's currently in a tailspin, having lost four games in a row.
