Last Thursday, the LHHS Gymnastics team warmed up for their upcoming district meet by competing in the RISD Invitational.
Out of a large field of 14 teams, and with one of their key gymnasts - Sarie Morrison - out of action, the Lady 'Cats finished in a respectable 6th place.
Senior co-captain, Hannah Van Meter continued to impress on the season by winning the all-around competition. Van Meter won the all-around by placing 1st on the bars and floor and 4th on the vault and beam.
Sophomore Kristen DeCosta got back into the swing of things after being out of commission all season with an injury. Despite the long layoff, DeCosta received 4th on the floor and 9th on the beam.
Coach Addi Ledford expects Sarie Morrison to return to action for tomorrow's district meet. If all things go as planned, the Lady 'Cats have a very good chance at both a team title and a one-two finish in the all-around.
The district meet will be held at MST Elementary in Richardson and begins at 4:00 p.m. tomorrow, Tuesday March 9th.
Best of luck to all the Wildcat gymnasts!
