On February 18th the Lake Highlands Varsity Golf team traveled to Waco for their first tournament of the year.
The Wildcats had a good showing, placing 10th out of strong field of 18 teams in the 2-day event at the Baylor University golf team course, Twin Rivers Club.
Stephen Allen scored the best for the team over the two-day tourney, posting a 166. He also had the low team score of 80 the first day. David Green had the low score for the 'Cats the second day carding an 83.
Wildcats head coach, Christopher Cole, commented on the start of the season and the challenges ahead.
"We're on the verge of playing better as spring approaches. With Jesuit to deal with in several tournaments over the next two months we must play better. We still have four tournaments to play before the district tournament on April 12th and 13th."
Up next for the Wildcats is the Irving High School Invitational which is set to tee off at 8:00 a.m. this Saturday at Las Colinas Country Club.
