Boys golf head coach, Chris Cole, recently released try-out information for both the JV and Varsity golf teams.

The try-outs will be held at Firewheel Golf Course in Garland on August 15th, and if needed, will continue on August 16th. Tee-times begin at 7:30 a.m.

Requirements to try-out:

•Players will need to have their own set of golf clubs and be able to walk 18+ holes; will be two rounds on Monday.
•Have transportation to and from practice as golf is an off campus sport.

After working as an assistant coach under Jay Higgins for the past six years, Cory Tucker was officially announced as the new LHHS baseball head coach late last week.

Following nearly 800 wins over 46 years, Jay Higgins called it a career after the Wildcats bi-district playoff loss last month.

The interview process for the new Wildcat skipper took place over the past few weeks with Tucker and at least four other coaches in the running for the job.

After working hard in spring training, the Lake Highlands Wildcats pick teams and face-off against each other in the annual Red White spring game this Saturday, May 7th.

Kick-off is set for 1:30 p.m. at The Boneyard.

The 2011 graduating Seniors will be recognized prior to the game. Tickets are $3 for adults; $2 for students.

Day two of the 5A Region II Track meet was had on Tuesday with four LHHS Wildcats competing in their respective events - Nicole Alozie, Meron Fessahaie, David Green and Victor Iwuagwu.

With Region II is widely considered the toughest region in the state, it made qualifying for state a very tough proposition.

With the field events up first, sophomore Nicole Alozie gained valuable experience against a strong field in the Long Jump and finished 18th with a leap of 16'-02''.

Senior Victor Iwuague made the trip to Waco as a regional qualifier in the Pole Vault.…

LHHS Track and Field regional qualifiers went to work in Waco on Monday as day one of the UIL Region II Track Meet got underway. Eleven Wildcats qualified for regions this year - six boys and five girls.

Boys Qualifiers: Meron Fessahaie, Dereck Floyd, David Green, Victor Iwuagwu, Zach Knickman and Nobel Tola.

Girls Qualifiers: Nicole Alozie, Shania Edwards, Kenya Mosley, Timeka Sandifer, Sydney Stovall
