After rushing for over 1200 yards last season as the featured running back for the 'Cats offense, Desmond Roland has attracted a lot of attention from college recruiters.

With nearly a dozen offers from major colleges all over the country, Roland recently narrowed his top three choices to TCU, Arkansas and Oklahoma State.

Today he made it official and will cross the red river to play his college ball at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK.

Fresh off a team state championship, Lady 'Cats senior gymnast, Hannah Van Meter, traveled to Florida last weekend to compete in the Nationals meet.

Van Meter, along with senior teammate, Sarie Morrison, were one of only 150 gymnast to qualify for Nationals.

Unfortunately, after winning six gold medals, including her third All-Around state title in a row, Morrison's recent ankle surgery left her unable to compete this year. Van Meter traveled to Florida with her head coach, Addi Ledford, who is also an assistant coach for Team Texas.

The amazing career of LHHS gymnast Sarie Morrison continues to draw attention, this time by Sports Illustrated.

In this week's issue, Sarie is featured in the popular sports magazine's "Faces in the Crowd" section. Click HERE to see the on-line version, which includes a video from MaxPreps.

If you're a golfer, start working on your swing. It's time to join the Wildcat Club for their 9th Annual Cat Classic Golf Tournament.

The tournament is scheduled for Tuesday, June 8th at Canyon Creek Country Club. Lunch will be served at noon, followed by a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m.

Golfers will enjoy dinner and an awards ceremony immediately following tournament.

The Wildcat Club supports the coaches and athletes of all sports programs at Forest Meadow Junior High, Lake Highlands Junior High, Lake Highlands Freshman Center and Lake Highlands High School.

The annual Red/White Spring game was held this past Saturday and went about as well as any spring game usually goes.

Down 6-7 with just over a minute remaining in the game, the Red team won the game 13-7 off a 45 yard touchdown pass by senior-to-be running back, Desmond Roland. On the play, Roland rolled to his right out of the Wildcat formation and hit Michael Wright for the game winning touchdown.

There was the issue of the clock mysteriously running out after the winning touchdown. With the 'Cats baseball team finishing up their big win over Rowlett, perhaps the clock…
