Bethel Lutheran welcomes neighbors
The Bethel choir is ready to party!
With temperatures cooling down, it’s time once again for the annual Bethel Lutheran Block Party.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 25th.

That's when the church will host this fun and festive family event – one that's been enjoyed by church members and neighborhood friends for several years.

Event organizers are anticipating another successful turnout from congregants and local residents alike.

According to Associate Pastor Luke Madsen, "while we have a lot of folks from our congregation who attend, we also get a lot of drive by attendance – they see the party going on and come on over!"

The Block Party will offer up a variety of activities for the whole family, including children's games, an obstacle course, face painting, a bounce house, basketball shoot, and petting zoo.

Neighborhood firefighters from Station #48 will be on hand, and live music will be performed by the church choir and band.

Like last year, there will be an honor ceremony for our nation’s veterans, which will take place at 6:15 p.m.

Something new this year will be the raffle for a flat screen television, a generous donation from a congregant, and free food and drinks for everyone!

The Block Party committee is headed up again this year by the Bethel's Director of Music Ministries, Pam Swendig.

"This party gets bigger every year and we’re thrilled to host it," she says. "We want to welcome all the neighbors of Bethel Lutheran with open arms and loving spirits, and extend God’s grace."

"Our committee has done a terrific job organizing this year's event."

"We’ve got new entertainment planned and are creating new games for the kids. We had a lot of volunteers sign up during our August 29th service, but we can always use more!”

Bethel Lutheran Church is located at located at 11211 E. Northwest Highway.

The party begins at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 25th.
