Scofield Christian hosts 2010 production
This Thursday evening, Scofield Christian School will present their annual spring musical entitled, Truth Works: Making Right Choices.
The spring musical is a long-held Scofield tradition, having been presented every year for more than 25 years.
In the musical, the actors depict various everyday situations and learn how to make Godly choices.
Tomorrow night's production, combined with a short choral concert performed by Scofield’s littlest students, will last approximately one hour and is sure to delight the heart and feed the soul.
This year's stars of the musical are the graduating 6th graders, who, according to Scofield musical director Nancy Burroughs, "are very talented and love being on the stage."
Among the starring 6th graders are Lake Highlands residents Mark, Josh and Luke Garwood, Mackenzie Jones, Braden Weitzel, and Murial Bezanson.
The rest of the cast and chorus are 1st through 5th grade Scofield students.
All the student performers have been diligently working on the musical production since their return to school from Spring Break.
They are all excited to present the fruit of their hard work to their friends, family and the Lake Highlands community.
"The kids work so hard on this program in music class, in addition to rehearsing on their own time," says Burroughs.
"And all our teachers bend over backwards to help me and the production team in any way we ask."
The show premieres this Thursday evening at 7:00 pm in the Scofield Memorial Church worship center.
The one-night performance is free and open to the public, and all the students hope to see you there!
Scofield Memorial Church is located at 7730 Abrams Road in Lake Highlands.
